šŸø Is That A Dirty Pickled Pepper In Your Martini?

Perhaps I will start a series of cocktail recipes with terrible puns as titles.  Wait, I don’t actually think that’s a bad idea!  I love a dirty martini.  I love a dirty pickled martini, so, why not a Dirty Pickled Pepperoncini Martini?  Let me tell you, there are far worse things that could fall into your perfectly chilled martini.

I just made a batch of the most tasty and puckery, Pickled Pepperoncini Peppers and they were screaming at me the entire time.  “I should be a delicious addition to the perfect, little, dirty martini!”   Who am I to argue with genius…..or any excuse to make a tasty tipple or two.

Is that a (fill in blank here) in your martini?  It’s as fun to say as adding “In-Bed” after reading your fortune cookie.  Just think of the possibilities.  By the way, do you add that to your fortune cookies when you read them?  You know how it goes….you will meet a stranger today, then you say….”In Bed”.  Hysterical.  Oh well, I am very easily amused………In Bed!

For a martini, straight up, chill a standard martini glass in the freezer while you prepare your cocktail.  For a martini on the rocks, use a double rocks glass.

Fill a cocktail shaker 1/2 with ice.  Add 2 1/2 ounces best quality vodka or gin, 1/2 ounce dry vermouth and 1/2 ounce of the brine from the pickled pepperoncini peppers.  Using a long cocktail spoon, stir the cocktail until very cold, at least 30 seconds.

Strain into the chilled martini glass and garnish with a pepperoncini pepper (or two) and sprinkle with a few dried red chili flakes.

If you prefer a martini on the rocks, add ice to the rocks glass and fill.  Garnish with the pepperoncini pepper and chili flakes.
